Tucson police follow tips in missing-girl case

Tucson police say they’ve talked with at least three of five people captured on video walking near a home where a 6-year-old Tucson girl vanished.

Lt. Fabian Pacheco said detectives wanted to talk with the group walking early in the morning to see if they had seen anything unusual. Pacheco didn’t say at a press briefing Sunday afternoon what the men and women told officers.

Police seek Tucson man accused of assaulting wife

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Tucson man who’s accused of assaulting his estranged wife. Tucson police say 26-year-old Jose Raul Juarez-Orci is wanted on suspicion of attempted murder and domestic violence.

They say Juarez-Orci allegedly forced his way inside home of his wife and attacked her with a deadly weapon on April 5. Police say the couple wasn’t living together and Juarez-Orci’s wife had an order of protection against him.

The woman and the couple’s three children ran to a neighbor’s house to call for help. Authorities say the woman was taken to a Tucson hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
